The best caliber used to be the 270 JDJ. My cherished rifle is everything made by Remington. My best friends’ prized gun is the Remington Model 710 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam. My cherished hunt was last fall just outside of Sylvester. I like that you can shoot the Remington 338 Lapua Magnum without much fuss.

For rabbit hunting I like all my 35 Whelen and 30-40 Krag Ruger hunting rifles to be “tack drivers”. My all-time adored hunt was in Ellerbe when you took Louise out and the two of you fall asleep, but still managed to get the buck with your 35 Whelen. My precious caliber just for buck hunting in the woods of WI though is the 35 Whelen, followed by the 30-40 Krag. Our precious rifle is the 30-40 Krag I picked up online at the NRA store.
My Mother’s precious rifle is my new Ruger PC4 with the checkered hard rock maple chambered in 35 Whelen and 30-40 Krag. Bobby got his Ruger last fall at Wal Mart in Ellerbe.
