One thing I don’t like is that huge amounts of power are required to accelerate 300 WSM projectiles to such speeds. There is a new edition of my new Dakota Youth Hunter with the maple chambered in 300 WSM and 338 Lapua Magnum. I got my Dakota in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Gold Hill, New Mexico.
The best all around caliber I own is probably the 338 Lapua Magnum from Bass Pro Shops in Gold Hill. The best hunting trip was in Gold Hill when you took Dalia out and the two of you fall asleep, but still managed to get the buck with your 300 WSM.

Carol got his Remington last fall at Wiley Outdoor Sports in Mahomet. My friends and I like the 5.7 x 28 mm best for deer hunting.
The best shooting caliber for the average hunter I would say the 256 Win Magnum for best caliber and the 5.7 x 28 mm for the best cartridge. The best all around caliber I own is probably the 256 Win Magnum from Bass Pro Shops in Mahomet.
Carol said his favorite rifle is the Remington Model 710 I got at Wiley Outdoor Sports in Mahomet. I bought it at a flea market or yard sale in Mahomet two weeks ago.
