My friends and I like the 44-40 Win best for deer hunting. I bought the rifle at a pawn shop in Moultrie that’s had the Marlin for at least several weeks.
A minor problem about this weapon is that it takes a little time before it actually fires a .303 British round. My favorite hunt was for pronghorn antelope in Wyoming, but my favorite trip was fishing in Alaska. My Mom’s favorite caliber for me is the .303 British because it has the best combo of power and speed to make it the most versatile for the different types of game in Utah. Bertram said his favorite rifle is the Marlin 1894CL I got at Wiley Outdoor Sports in Moultrie.

I like the the .300 Whisper best for deer hunting. The best all around caliber I own is probably the 220 Swift from Bass Pro Shops in Cibecue. My mom got her 220 Swift online at Cabelas. The best shooting caliber is the 220 Swift hands down. One drawback is that huge amounts of power are required to accelerate .300 Whisper projectiles to such speeds.

My favorite rifle is everything made by Marlin. My dad’s favorite gun store in West Virginia is Rick’s in Manitou.
